About the ProData dataset
ProData uses a limited historical dataset maintained by CLIPIN. The data comes from fitness devices that recorded activities from 2014 to 2023. This page explains which records appear in the charts, how we group them, and what the figures can tell you.
Coverage
The Spain sample contains 2,316,296 recorded activities and 273,509 identified athletes from 2014 through 2023. It is a fixed historical window, not complete recording coverage. Six named fitness activity categories and an other-activities category form the activity mix.
The shape of an active day
2014–2023 inclusive. Activity start locations inside the stored Spain boundary. Location does not establish residence. Weekdays are Monday–Friday; weekends are Saturday–Sunday. Each curve uses its own activity count as the denominator. Athletes can contribute multiple activities.
Session duration
Each value is an athlete’s mean across at least five valid sessions within the selected type of day. Each athlete contributes one value. Valid sessions last 1 minute to 24 hours. Weekday and weekend groups can contain different athletes.
Small groups
Duration groups with fewer than 100 eligible athletes are unavailable. Missing or suppressed values are not zero. Counts of athletes across fitness activities must not be added because one athlete can appear in several categories.
Limits
These are observations in a selected sample. They do not measure national fitness, the share of residents who exercise, or changes in participation. The data is not a training prescription. No individual records, exact locations, or routes are included.
